For the last few weeks we’ve been wondering what has happened to Shieldhill Castle? Has it closed? This beautiful castle was rumoured to have closed and have just come across this article from Nov 09 on the Hamilton Advertiser.

Sarah and I got wed in Shieldhill in July 2009 and it was the most amazing venue. We’d never had food like it and the staff were unbelievably friendly. The owners Mr & Mrs Lamb were brilliant on the day and there were discussions of converting their house into a restaurant and them moving out of the area. Whether this has anything to do with it I’m unsure, but lets hope that this is the case.

If anyone knows anything it would be great to know as we’d be truly gutted if the closure of this castle is true.
